Divisions

Division #1 – K-1st Grade (Co-ed)

The goal of this division is an introduction to the game of basketball, including basketball basics and rules, as well as what good sportsmanship means. The kids will be taught how to shoot and pass as well as what different terms mean such as free throw, offense, defense, etc. Each team will have at least 2 coaches who will work with their team on Monday nights. During the Saturday games coaches will be on the court with the kids, helping them out and also acting as the “referees”. We use the division age groups as a guide when setting teams; however, with various levels of experience, there may be situations where kids play outside their grade level, and while we will do our best to honor requests to have friends play together, we want to have as much balance as possible. It is not fun for anyone if one of the teams is not balanced.
